Is your EOI up and running?

All applicants who have been waiting for a long time, especially during the pandemic , to finally obtain a sponsored skilled visa 491 or 190, are undoubtedly benefiting from the recent changes in the WA Migration programme, which include expanding the occupation list by 60%, accepting interstate and international applicants, lowering the English requirement to competent level, and eliminating the requirement of having an employment contract for 491 visa.

Do you live in Australia, but not in Western Australia?
It’s alright. You can choose the state of WA while submitting your EOI for a 491 or 190 visa. You should only choose a 491 visa if you do not already have a job offer or employment contract in WA.

Do you live overseas?
No problem. You can choose the state of WA while submitting your EOI for a 491 or 190 visa. You should only choose a 491 visa if you do not already have a job offer or employment contract in WA.

Have you recently received a negative skill assessment result?
Before you submit your EOI, you must have a positive and valid skill assessment. If your skill assessment result is negative, you should obtain a second opinion to find out the options available to appeal, review or re-apply.
The skill assessment is valid for 3 years. If your skill assessment is near expiry , you should renew it.

Have you considered submitting two EOIs or maybe three?
If you have completed your JRP and obtained your skill assessment as a Chef , you can submit two EOIs as a Chef and a Cook. You may also be able to submit your 2nd EOI for your partner and maximise the chance of receiving an invitation.

Are you holding a 482 visa and you are not sure if you can apply for a skilled visa?
You can definitely submit your EOI for a skilled visa if you have a valid skill assessment and 65 points.

Are you holding a bridging visa A , B or C?
You can apply for skilled visas while you hold a bridging visa A, B or C. If you’ve had a visa refusal and pending a decision in AAT , you are subject to section 48 bar therefore you can only apply for a skilled visa subclass 491 onshore.

The next round of invitations to apply for WA State nomination are anticipated to be issued in the third week of September 2022.
